This Audubon bird print reproduces plate 383 from John James Audubon's nineteenth-century Birds of America. The original engraving is titled Long-eared Owl.
A solitary owl rests on a bare forked branch, its bright amber eye turned outward beneath long feather tufts. Intricate bars and scallops run through its wings and tail, while the original folio, plate number, hand-lettered title, species line and engraved credits remain part of the composition.
Archive Print Co. restores each illustration for clarity while preserving the character of the original. Each reproduction is printed as a giclée art print on heavyweight 325gsm archival matte paper with archival inks.
Colors may vary slightly between screens and the finished piece; the print will always be richer in person.
Our prints are produced to museum standards. Each piece is printed on premium heavyweight archival matte paper (325gsm), the same quality used in museums and galleries, giving rich color, deep blacks, and excellent detail.
