This 1969 nautical chart of Norfolk Harbor and the Elizabeth River, Virginia, is U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey chart 452, drawn at 1:20,000 with soundings in feet. Greige land is crowded with olive street grids, and the river winds through them as a narrow ribbon of pale blue-grey, left white along the dredged channel.

Lettered on the sheet are Norfolk, Portsmouth, Berkley, Chesapeake, West Norfolk, Port Norfolk, Cradock and Great Bridge, with the Elizabeth River and its Eastern, Southern and Western branches, the Lafayette River and Broad Creek. Craney Island, Lambert Point and Lafayette Park also appear. A note closes the Craney Island disposal area to navigation, and the Intracoastal Waterway leaves south through the lock at Great Bridge.

Printed on 325gsm museum-grade archival matte paper using fade-resistant giclée printing with archival inks, ensuring your vintage nautical chart will maintain its maritime heritage for generations.

Colors may vary slightly between screens and the finished piece — the print will always be richer.

Our prints are produced to museum standards. Each piece is printed on premium heavyweight archival matte paper (325gsm), the same quality used in museums and galleries, giving rich color, deep blacks, and excellent detail.
