Jupiter is a vintage planetary plate from J. & G. Pickett's Astronomia series, published in 1829. The planet is drawn as a pale banded disc on a dark ground, set beneath blue drapery between two fluted columns.

Horizontal bands cross the cream globe, and four small moons sit in a line on either side of it, two to the left and two to the right. Lettering on the blue curtain gives the distance from the Sun, progression per hour, revolution round the Sun, inclination of its orbit and eccentricity. The band at the base reads Jupiter, diameter 89,069 miles, and the planet's symbol is drawn on the right-hand fold.

Printed on 325gsm museum-grade archival matte paper using fade-resistant giclée printing with archival inks, preserving the detail and character of the original for generations.

Colors may vary slightly between screens and the finished piece — the print will always be richer.

Our prints are produced to museum standards. Each piece is printed on premium heavyweight archival matte paper (325gsm), the same quality used in museums and galleries, giving rich color, deep blacks, and excellent detail.
