An archival reproduction of Cepheus from Johannes Hevelius's Uranographia (1690). The hand-colored engraving shows the king in a crimson robe and green turban against a pale ground, with gold-dotted stars, fine chart lines and a red-and-white dashed scale rule around the edge.
Cepheus is labeled across the top, wearing a gold crown and holding a gilded scepter, with a yellow length of cloth streaming behind him. Around him are Ursa Minor at upper right, the pale giraffe Camelopardalus at lower right and Cassiopeja at lower left. A yellow band edged in blue runs down the left side, and the figure mark Fig. C and a Polus Ecliptice label also appear.
Printed on 325gsm museum-grade archival matte paper using fade-resistant giclée printing with archival inks, preserving the detail and character of the original for generations.
Colors may vary slightly between screens and the finished piece — the print will always be richer.
Our prints are produced to museum standards. Each piece is printed on premium heavyweight archival matte paper (325gsm), the same quality used in museums and galleries, giving rich color, deep blacks, and excellent detail.
