This is a seaweed botanical plate of Haliseris delicatula, Padina pavonia and Zonaria lobata, from William Henry Harvey's Nereis Boreali-Americana, Part I (1852). The sheet is lettered Part I Plate VII and shows three brown algae on a cream ground in golden-olive tones.
The sheet is divided into three panels. At upper left, Haliseris delicatula is drawn as a thin forking branch with a forked stem and small dotted details. At upper right, Padina pavonia is a fan of concentric bands in olive and yellow with enlarged sections below it. The large lower panel holds a Zonaria lobata specimen of fanned, funnel-shaped blades with a ribbed fragment beside it.
Printed on 325gsm museum-grade archival matte paper using fade-resistant giclée printing with archival inks, preserving the detail and character of the original for generations.
Colors may vary slightly between screens and the finished piece — the print will always be richer.
Our prints are produced to museum standards. Each piece is printed on premium heavyweight archival matte paper (325gsm), the same quality used in museums and galleries, giving rich color, deep blacks, and excellent detail.
