Charles Lewis Patterson's U.S. Patent 822,981, granted June 12, 1906, documents a garment-hanger. The sheet is headed C. L. Patterson, Garment Hanger, and numbered 822,981. It shows a wire hanger with a hook, a flat bar and coiled wire ends fanned out like brushes.
Three figures: Fig. 1 is a front view of the hanger, with a twisted hook at the top, sloping wire arms ending in fan-shaped coils, and a bar across the bottom; Fig. 2 is a view from above, where the coils spread like two brushes; Fig. 3 is a single bent wire piece with wound ends. Numerals up to 15 label the parts, with signatures below.
