Carl J. E. Eliason's U.S. Patent 2,323,526, granted July 6, 1943, documents a propulsion mechanism for motor toboggans. The sheet is headed C. J. Eliason, records an application filed May 12, 1941, and is marked sheet 1 of 3 sheets. It shows a long sled with curved runners.
Fig. 1 is a side view of the sled body with two curved runners at the front, an engine with two cylinders at the top, a drive chain, a lever and a transmission lettered Reversible Transmission on the drawing. Figs. 9 and 10 are small cross-sections. Numerals run past 100, and the inventor's and attorneys' signatures sit below.
