This 1968 nautical chart of Boston Inner Harbor, Massachusetts, is U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey chart 248, drawn on a Mercator projection at 1:10,000 with soundings in feet at mean low water. Khaki-taupe land is laced with street grids, rail yards and finger piers, and the dredged channels run white through pale blue-grey shallows past large compass roses.
Lettered on the sheet are Boston, Charlestown, East Boston, South Boston, Chelsea, Everett, Somerville, Cambridge and Medford, with the Charles, Mystic and Chelsea Rivers, Fort Point Channel, Reserved Channel and Pleasure Bay. Logan Airport and Castle Island face the city across the water, and Harvard University and the Weld Boat Club sit on the Charles. A note lists storm-warning stations at the Custom House, the Coast Guard Base and the Charles River Yacht Club.
Printed on 325gsm museum-grade archival matte paper using fade-resistant giclée printing with archival inks, ensuring your vintage nautical chart will maintain its maritime heritage for generations.
Colors may vary slightly between screens and the finished piece — the print will always be richer.
