Tafel 85 from Ernst Haeckel's Kunstformen der Natur (1904), titled Ascidiae, Seescheiden (sea squirts).. The plate is printed in white line on a pale blue panel, with numbered figures, Haeckel's heading and the title below.
A large branching colony spreads across the center, with a pair of open, shell-like halves beneath it. A spiny round form sits at the upper left, a bumpy, spotted one at the upper right and a chain of oval cells across the top center. Flower-like round sections, some with ten or twelve petals, run down both sides, and two patterned oval sections fill the bottom corners.
Printed on 325gsm museum-grade archival matte paper using fade-resistant giclée printing with archival inks, preserving the detail and character of the original for generations.
Colors may vary slightly between screens and the finished piece — the print will always be richer.
Our prints are produced to museum standards. Each piece is printed on premium heavyweight archival matte paper (325gsm), the same quality used in museums and galleries, giving rich color, deep blacks, and excellent detail.
