This the Sun print is a museum quality reproduction of Alexander Keith Johnston's astronomical illustration from 1869. The period lettering and distinctive visual character of the historical work are preserved in this edition.
Small solar discs line the top of a blue field above a larger central Sun. Below, dark rectangular panels and a close surface study add contrasting textures, while a vertical sequence of pale circles provides a comparative element at the right. The mixture of simple shapes and fine detail makes this an engaging historical solar study.
Printed on 325gsm museum-grade archival matte paper using fade-resistant giclée printing with archival inks, preserving the detail and character of the original for generations.
Colors may vary slightly between screens and the finished piece — the print will always be richer.
Our prints are produced to museum standards. Each piece is printed on premium heavyweight archival matte paper (325gsm), the same quality used in museums and galleries, giving rich color, deep blacks, and excellent detail.
