This 1948 nautical chart of the Alaska Peninsula and the Aleutian Islands to Seguam Pass is U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey chart 8802, with soundings in fathoms. Open water fills most of the sheet, pale and dense with depth figures, while the peninsula and island chain are printed in sand tones, their volcanoes drawn in fine shaded relief.
Lettered on the sheet are the Bering Sea, the Pacific Ocean and Bristol Bay, with Kvichak, Nushagak, Egegik and Ugashik bays, Port Heiden, Port Moller and Chignik Bay. The Pribilof, Shumagin, Sanak and Krenitzin islands lie offshore, and Unimak Island carries Shishaldin Volcano. Pavlof Volcano is marked smoking, and a note closes Unalaska Island to the public as a naval defensive sea area.
Printed on 325gsm museum-grade archival matte paper using fade-resistant giclée printing with archival inks, ensuring your vintage nautical chart will maintain its maritime heritage for generations.
Colors may vary slightly between screens and the finished piece — the print will always be richer.
Our prints are produced to museum standards. Each piece is printed on premium heavyweight archival matte paper (325gsm), the same quality used in museums and galleries, giving rich color, deep blacks, and excellent detail.
