Tafel 49 from Ernst Haeckel's Kunstformen der Natur (1904), titled Actiniae and captioned Seeanemonen. This is a full-colour plate: sea anemones glow in red, yellow, orange and cream against a deep green and brown ground.
Sea anemones are grouped as if on a rocky reef. A tall column banded in yellow and red carries a tentacled crown at the left, an orange stalk with a spiky red disc rises at the right, and a cream anemone with a dark-spotted mouth stands at the lower right. Slender pale tentacles reach from a central figure above, with small striped and spotted forms tucked between them.
Printed on 325gsm museum-grade archival matte paper using fade-resistant giclée printing with archival inks, preserving the detail and character of the original for generations.
Colors may vary slightly between screens and the finished piece — the print will always be richer.
Our prints are produced to museum standards. Each piece is printed on premium heavyweight archival matte paper (325gsm), the same quality used in museums and galleries, giving rich color, deep blacks, and excellent detail.
